Anastasia Widyadari, PhD, Springer Nature, UKAnastasia joined BMC in May 2022. She holds a PhD in Medicine from University of Leeds where she studied the role of DOCK4 in glioblastoma, and the pathological effects of radiotherapy on the vasculature of recurrent glioblastoma. Previously, she earned her BSc (Hons) degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Brighton. In 2016, Anastasia worked at the Eijkman Institute of Molecular Biology in Jakarta, Indonesia, studying the genetics of obesity. She is committed to championing open access and reproducible research in science.
Anastasia is based in the London office and is the editor of BMC Medical Ethics, BMC Complementary Medicine and Therapies, BMC Pharmacology and Toxicology, and BMC Proceedings.

John Noel Viana, PhD, The Australian National University, AustraliaJohn Noel Viana is a research fellow at the Justice and Technoscience Laboratory (JusTech) at the School of Regulation and Global Governance (RegNet) at the Australian National University. His current work aims to develop an anti-racist neuroethics framework to promote epistemic justice in brain and mental health research. He has a PhD in Bioethics/Society and Culture from the University of Tasmania, where he investigated ethical, legal, and societal issues in clinical trials of invasive neurosurgical procedures for people with Alzheimer's disease. He has also worked on other bioethical topics, such as media portrayals of novel technologies, application of new neuroimaging modalities, and patient experience and perception of neurotherapeutic interventions. In addition to his bioethics, social studies of science, and science communication training during his PhD and postdoc, Dr. Viana also has a master’s in neurosciences and a bachelor’s in molecular biology. Furthermore, he is an active member of the Engagement and Outreach Committee of the International Neuroethics Society.
Primus Chi, PhD, KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme, KenyaPrimus C. Chi, MPH, PhD is a bioethicist and health systems researcher with over 14 years of experience in leading and supporting research and capacity building programmes and projects across Africa and Europe. He currently serves as mid-level social scientist/ethicist at the KEMRI-Wellcome Trust Research Programme, Kenya, where he leads a portfolio of embedded social science and empirical ethics research on controlled human infection model studies, social and structural drivers of vaccination impact among vulnerable African populations and vaccine donations in the context of epidemics and pandemics. Prior to joining the KWTRP in 2018, he served as postdoctoral researcher at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Research on Health Care in Disasters at Karolinska Institute, Stockholm (Sweden) and doctoral researcher at the Peace Research Institute Oslo, Oslo (Norway). He is a member of several local, national and international bioethics initiatives, including the and Global Health Bioethics Network (GHBN), Bioethics Society of Kenya (BSK), and Cameroon Bioethics Initiative (CAMBIN), where he served as chair of the CAMBIN research ethics committee for over 7 years. His research interests lie at the intersection of embedded social science approaches, vulnerabilities to vaccine impact, and ethics and governance of new and emerging technologies.
